How Can I Lose My Baby Fat Belly???

How Can I Lose My Baby Fat Belly?
cutenyee...

After giving birth, your stomach stays stretched out. This post-baby belly, a baby fat belly, is a frustration for most mothers who want the flat stomach from before the pregnancy. A baby fat belly is the result of nine months of growing from a developing baby, and the resulting stretching that the skin, ligaments and muscles do in order to accommodate the growing child inside you, as well as an enlarged uterus. There is no immediate fix, but with some work, losing a baby fat tummy occurs a lot faster.

Step 1

Eat healthy. A healthy diet is important to weight loss, which is a big part of losing your baby belly. Focus on reducing the number of calories you take in from the amount you were eating when you were pregnant. A healthy diet for women requires 1300 to 1500 calories a day at a minimum. If you're breastfeeding, plan on taking in between 1800 to 2200 calories to maintain your milk supply.

Step 2

Breastfeed. Breastfeeding burns extra calories, making weight loss easier. It also causes uterine contractions, which shrink your uterus back to the original size faster. This, in turn, reduces the size of your stomach, reducing your baby belly.

Step 3

Get moving. You need cardiovascular activity to burn the fat in your baby belly. Walking is a great activity that you can start out slow with and build as you're comfortable, but any exercise is fine. Get your heart rate up to burn off some calories and shrink your baby fat belly.

Step 4

Tighten your core. During the day, keep your core engaged. Sit up straight, and try to pull your belly button towards your lower back. You'll feel your core abdominal muscles tighten up. By constantly engaging your core, you tighten the abdominal muscles and help start to shrink your baby belly.

Step 5

Add in abdominal exercises. Crunches, sit ups, side sit ups, plank pose and other abdominal-building exercises help build up your muscles in your abdomen and lose your baby belly. Check to make sure you're using your abdominal muscles by putting a hand on them to feel if they're tight.

Step 6

Give it time. Your stomach was stretched for a long time, so it's not going to disappear overnight. It may take up to a few months for your stomach to start looking flat again, even doing all the right things.
